WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a valued member of Optiver Holding's Group Legal team, you will report directly to the Group Head of Legal and collaborate closely with various departments within Optiver Holding, including Group Compliance, Group Finance, Group Risk, and Group Tax. Additionally, you will maintain strong connections with Legal teams worldwide and engage with pertinent departments within local business units.
Our Group Legal team currently comprises the Group Head of Legal, the Manager Shareholder Affairs, two (senior) Legal Counsels, and a Paralegal, collectively addressing a wide spectrum of legal topics.
In the role of (Senior) Legal Counsel, your primary responsibilities will encompass providing legal counsel on all pertinent legal aspects related to the roles and activities of Optiver Holding, as well as those impacting the global scope of the Optiver Group. Initially, your focus will be on:
- Offering guidance on financial law matters concerning Optiver Holding, including but not limited to the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft), Investment Firm Directive (IFD), Investment Firm Regulation (IFR), and associated global regulations.
- Advising on regulatory issues relevant to the Optiver Group and its worldwide operations.
- Monitoring and aiding in the implementation of changes in rules and regulations pertinent to Optiver Holding and the Optiver Group as a whole.
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various types of (global) contracts and related documents.
- Assisting the Group Legal team in other corporate law or employment law matters as required.
WHO YOU ARE:
Optiver needs our next Senior Financial Counsel to be someone with:
- An academic degree in Dutch or European Law.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably with a background in an international law firm and expertise in financial law.
- A versatile, detail-focused, practical, proactive, assertive, and results-oriented individual with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
- Exceptional ability to translate business needs into legal solutions.
- Proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts of the highest quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A collaborative team player with a good sense of humour.
