Financial Internal Control Consultant
At a glance
As Financial Internal Control Consultant, you will challenge and advise the global Finance departments in identifying significant financial reporting risks and issues. You will be able to strengthen the design of the Bank’s control framework by mitigating those risks. Your starting point will be analysing existing and new IFRS, Regulatory reporting regulations, Sustainability reporting (ESG) and financial accounting & reporting processes.
Your job
As a Financial Internal Control Consultant you will advise ABN AMRO’s Finance management in implementing a uniform Control Framework by adopting the harmonized Internal Control approach. Advising, improving, training, trouble shooting and implementing a robust global Finance Control Framework are the basic activities you will be doing on a weekly basis. Periodically, the assessment of the operating effectiveness of the key controls will be reported to the MT Finance and CFO. You are the sparring partner of Finance Management in case of in-depth investigations of finance management, auditors and/or the regulator.
Working environment
The Internal Control (IC) team is part of the department Policies & Internal Control of Finance. You will be part of a small, young and ambitious team.
Your profile
You are an energetic person with humor and a passion and are able to translate theory into practices. Check your profile:
- You have an auditors educational background (preferably big four company)
- You understand the impact of IFRS, prudent Regulatory Reporting changes and ESG and like to initiate in depth investigations on processes, reports/ data relating to policy adherence
- You are familiar within Financial Services / bank’s products and processes
- You are analytical and able to quickly understand complex matters
- You are proactive, flexible and result-driven personality, while maintaining high quality standards
- You have good communications skills, both verbally as well as written, and can adapt these to various audiences. Good command of both the Dutch and English language is required
- You are a strong, enthusiastic team player
